Halloween event to help homeless

Monday, Oct. 28, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.

Have a howling good time and help the homeless too.

That's the happenin' theme set for Halloween night at Hippo and the Wild Bunch, a nightclub at 4503 Paradise Road, across from the Hard Rock hotel-casino.

The evening features Magickal Marissa and John 3:16 Cook, local homeless advocates who stock their van daily with food, clothing and other supplies and make the rounds at homeless encampments. For many, their donations are all that stand between them and starvation or sickness and perhaps death from exposure to the elements.

"Ghoul-ash" and shrimp will be among the food choices as well as an array of beverages. Entertainment will flow from Marissa and John as well as the costumed guests.

Proceeds from the event, which requires a nominal cover charge, will go toward supplies for the area's homeless people.
