Letter: Cull all the bad apples from police departments

He was 100 percent on the button. It could not have been stated better. There are bad apples in all professions. However, the fact that it is condoned is very frightening, and I do not recall this sorry state of affairs during the McCarthy-McMahon eras.

I would also like to know why, when a police officer hops a fence or otherwise enters a yard, he isn't prepared with a can of Mace? He knows he'll undoubtedly be greeted by a dog.

I have the utmost respect for the North Las Vegas Police Department. They have been extremely good and helpful to me in the past. In addition, I awakened one night to find my four dogs had them cornered in my back yard. THough my dogs were totally harassing, they did not harm a pet in any way. I think we have an excellent police force here.
