Letter: Character, not debate skills count for president

Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.

Don't they know what these candidates have done, not done or said what they stand for prior to the debates?

Do they believe what is said during the debates is the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth? The only way the debaters could prove anything would be if they were hooked up to a "true"--"not-true" machine.

Character, integrity and truth will come to the front -- too bad people pay no attention to these positives.
