Ridley Donald Dixon, 65, either drowned or was overcome by hypothermia after the boat he was in capsized Tuesday afternoon, said Elko County Undersheriff Clair Morris.
Dixon's friends, Dan Edgington, 50, Curt Johnson, 30, also from Reno, managed to swim to shore.
Morris sayid the boat overturned after one of the men stood up to reel in a fish.
"The guys were buddies who had come to the area for a little hunting, fishing and relaxing," Morris said.
Wildhorse Reservoir is about 65 miles north of Elko.
