Letter: Elitist attitude of NEA interferes with education
Wednesday, Oct. 16, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
If only we as a nation would put as much energy in teaching the basics of math, reading, science, and English to include public speaking and literature as we do sports we may be a nation once again that is a producer of goods instead of a servant to the world with hat in hand every time some third world country wants something from us including money.
The world today is extremely technical and things and technology change rapidly and often before you can get used to a system of doing something, it is old hat.
If teachers cannot teach what is required of today's students all the teacher certification in the world is meaningless, anyone can make a pretty bulletin board.
According to Civil Law, Crime and damage. It is fraud when you issue a diploma using the guidelines of the state statutes or regulations. The said state is saying the student has attained the necessary education to graduate from that institution. All the state education teachers, principals and whoever else has their signature to that diploma is guilty of misrepresentation and fraudulently using funds that were collected by a tax from each citizen of said state. In effect, making a diploma meaningless for everyone because of the massive fraudulent misrepresentation of the document.
This fraud has been caused by using billions of dollars of public funds by a monopolistic operation of school funds, and the elitist attitude of the National Education Association.
