Full-time water saving urged

The Southern Nevada Water Authority and the Southern Nevada Coalition 2000 have kicked off their first year-round water conservation campaign.
The grass-roots campaign is trying to sell people on the notion of cutting back their water use all year, not just during the peak water demand summer months.
"Water conservation is vital to our community and we are extremely satisfied with this year's conservation efforts," Coalition 2000 Chairman Bill Martin said.
Southern Nevadans saved more than 7.5 billion gallons of water, or 11 percent of projected water use during the summer months -- a 2 percent savings increase over last year's campaign.
To illustrate, the new ad campaign says that volume of water could fill Sam Boyd Stadium 143 times over. The new campaign, "Saving Water, It's Always in Season," will continue to focus on simple water conservation tips.
