Medical center to honor Ruthe

The National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine will honor Boyd Gaming executive Chuck Ruthe at its 1996 Humanitarian Award Dinner Oct. 26.

A reception at 6:30 p.m. will be followed by a 7:30 p.m. dinner in the Terrace Room at the Sheraton Desert Inn.

National Jewish Center for Immunology and Respiratory Medicine is a nonprofit, nonsectarian medical and research center.

"I am honored to be recognized by National Jewish, as I have been impressed with the excellent treatment patients receive from the hospital," Ruthe said. "And I'm especially proud to be part of Boyd Gaming. Allowing me the time to devote to these worthy endeavors underscores Boyd Gaming's commitment to providing the leadership to make our communities a better place to live and work."

Ruthe has been involved in a variety of professional and civic organizations and has been the recipient of many awards.

Prices for the tributes and tables are: a gold page and table of 10, $5,000; a silver page and table of 10, $3,500; and a black and white ad and table of 10, $2,500. Individual tickets are available at $200 each.

The honorary chairmen of the dinner are William Boyd of Boyd Gaming, Richard Bunker of the Nevada Resort Association, civic leader Kenny Guinn and Las Vegas SUN Chairman Mike O'Callaghan.

The dinner chairs are Regent Shelley Berkley of the Sands, Art Marshall of Marshall-Rousso, Frank Schreck of Schreck, Jones, Bernhard, Woloson & Godfrey, Don Snyder of Boyd Gaming and Claudine Williams of Harrah's Las Vegas.
