Obituary: John K. Stirton Jr.

John K. Stirton Jr., 82, of Henderson, died Sept. 30 in Henderson. He was born July 8, 1914, in Houston. A 48-year resident, he was a retired certified public accountant, a 50-year member of the American Legion, a member of the 32nd Degree Masons, Scottish Rite Bodies, the National Society of Public Accountants, Liberty Masonic Lodge 150 AF&AM and the Zelzah Shrine Temple.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; three sons, William J. Stirton of Cerritos, Calif., Charles P. Stirton of Tucson, Ariz., and Robert P. Stirton of Las Vegas; one stepdaughter, Cindy Dropp of Sequim, Wash.; one sister, Jeanne Heche of Orinda, Calif.; two brothers, David Stirton of Pearland, Texas, and Andrew Stirton of Galveston, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, handled arrangements.

The family suggests donations to Zelzah Shrine Transportation Fund, Zelzah Shrine Temple, 2222 W. Mesquite Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89107.
