A list of 36 cities Forbes magazine rated by comparing growth in jobs from January 1990 to July 1996 with taxes and other costs of doing business.
The first column is the name of the metropolitan area. The second column is a cost-of-doing-business index; the national index equals 100. The third column is the net increase in jobs, as a percentage, from January 1990 to July 1996.
