Teacher Accused in School Bomb Threats Considers Plea

Richard Borg, 41, had maintained his innocence in the bomb threats against Pleasant Valley Elementary School since his arrest in October.
But his lawyer, Larry Dunn, on Monday said the special education teacher now is poised to plead guilty to two felony counts. A Washoe County grand jury indicted him on nine felony counts last month.
A change of plea hearing before District Judge Brent Adams is scheduled for Dec. 5.
"After a review of all the evidence, he and I believe that this is in his best interest," Dunn told the Reno Gazette-Journal.
Dunn said there was no agreement with prosecutors on a recommended sentence.
Borg had been under police surveillance and was arrested on Oct. 10 after using a pay phone in Carson City.
The phone was the same one from which another bomb threat to the school was made at the same time Borg used it, authorities said.
In all, nine bomb threats were received over a three-week period.
