Elko seeking city manager

The city received 63 applications and resumes from candidates in 21 states for the position vacated by George Edes, who resigned in August, said Gene Hoskins, city personnel officer.

Hoskins said about 40 of the applicants were determined to be qualified, and they each were ranked by individual council members.

Each council member listed the 10 candidates they preferred. That process narrowed the list to 18.

Council members then submitted short lists, and the six finalists were on each list, Hoskins said.
