Jean Boundy was also given an eight-month suspended jail term, Attorney General Frankie Sue Del Papa said in a news release.
While Ms. Boundy conceded that prosecutors would be able to prove she was guilty of elderly abuse, she did not admit that she committed the offense.
Prosecutors claim that on June 12, 1995, Ms. Boundy struck her 75-year-old mother on the face, inflicting physical pain and suffering.
A certified nursing assistant, who cared for the victim in her home three times a week, reported the suspected abuse.
"Protecting our elderly citizens should continue to be a priority not only for health professionals, law enforcement and state welfare employees, but for all Nevadans," Del Papa said.
