The music selections will include the Las Vegas Brass Band performing "Simmorane March," "The Year of the Dragon" by Phillip Spark and the overture from "The Barber of Seville" by Rossini.
The Community Concert Band will then take the stage to perform "Suite Provencale' by Jan Van der Roost and "March of the Mogul Emperors" from the "Crown of India" by Edward Elgar.
The grand finale will feature a combined performance of more than 100 wind and percussion instruments from both the bands. The upbeat, patriotic salute to veterans includes "America the Beautiful." a musical rendition of "The Pledge of Allegiance" by Alfred Reed, Peter J. Wilhousky's original setting of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic," and "Armed Forces Salute," a medley of military hymns and marches by Bob Lowden.
In his ninth year of directing, Tony Labounty performs throughout the Las Vegas community, including Sun City and Nellis Air Force Base, and has been invited to perform for the Air Force's 50th anniversary celebration this spring at the Riviera hotel-casino.
