Body discovered near Lake Mead highway

Metro Police and park rangers are teaming up on an investigation into the death of a person whose skeletal remains were found along Lakeshore Road in Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
Park visitors found the corpse shortly after 2 p.m. Wednesday approximately 150 yards south of the road near mile marker 5, then flagged down a patrolling park ranger and led him to the site, said Karen Whitney, National Park Service spokeswoman.
No further details were available.
Anyone with information on the person's death is asked to call homicide investigators at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
