Asian duo Eth-Noh-Tec to give performance
Friday, Nov. 8, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
The team, Bay Area artists Nancy Wang and Robert Kickuchi-Yngojo, will present a "treasure bag" of tales blending music, dance and storytelling.
Employing a range of instruments, including Japanese Taiko drums, Shakuhachi flute and Filipino Kulintang gongs, Eth-Noh-Tec takes its audience on a journey into the world of traditional Asian folktales, legends and myths. Original performance pieces weave tribal and urban textures with humor and satire.
The duo's name expresses its goal: "the weaving together of distinctive cultural elements to create new possibilities."
Tickets are $7; $5 for seniors and students under 18. Call 455-7340.
