A 79-year-old woman struck by a bicycle as she crossed Las Vegas Boulevard has died.
Mary Kiskis of Las Vegas stepped off the sidewalk at Las Vegas Boulevard and East Sahara Avenue about 6:30 p.m. May 5 and into the path of a northbound bicycle ridden by Vernon Foster, 23, said Metro Police traffic Detective Dave Wagner.
Foster's Schwinn bicycle knocked Kiskis down and she suffered head and neck injuries. She was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center, where she died at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Kiskis, who stepped into the northeast corner of Las Vegas Boulevard against the pedestrian control signal, was cited for jaywalking, Wagner said.
The bicyclist was not cited or injured.
