Rob Deer belted two home runs and drove in five runs and Riccardo Ingram also homered as the Stars won their fourth straight game with an 8-6 victory over Salt Lake Monday night at Cashman Field. Deer, who now has six homers since joining the Stars, has four home runs and 10 RBIs in his past three games. Deer hit a two-run homer in the third inning to give the Stars a 3-2 lead and added a three-run shot in the seventh as Las Vegas went ahead 7-2. Ingram had three hits, including his first home run, a double and a single. His solo homer in the seventh gave the Stars an 8-2 lead. Pete Smith (3-2) limited the Buzz to two runs on six hits through seven innings and left with a 8-2 lead, but the Buzz scored a run off Joey Long in the eighth and three against Dustin Hermanson -- on Steve Hazlett's three-run homer -- in the ninth. Ron Villone came on to record the last out of the ninth and earned his third save. ... Stars second baseman Homer Bush extended his hitting streak to 17 games. ... Mike Sharperson collected two hits Monday and has a six-game hitting streak.

Stars left-hander Russ Swan (1-1, 3.09) will face Salt Lake's Mike Misuraca (1-1, 5.87) in the third game of the series tonight at 7:05.
In Wednesday's series finale at 7:05 p.m., the Stars will send left-hander Glenn Dishman (0-2, 7.63) to the mound to face the Buzz's Brett Roberts (2-3, 6.07).
