New hours at visitor center
Tuesday, May 14, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
New hours are in effect for the visitor center at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.
The center will open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Previously, the hours had been 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hours for the scenic drive and Red Spring remain the same, from 7 a.m. to dusk.
Modified hours for the visitor center will allow it to remain open seven days a week, said Mike Dwyer, Bureau of Land Management district manager.
The visitor center staff consists of four park rangers assisted by volunteers from Friends of Red Rock Canyon and the Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association. About 3,000 people visit the center each day.
