Beazer Homes USA Inc. earnings

COMMENTS: The company announced it had 1,706 orders for the quarter, a 48 percent increase over the comparable quarter in the prior year. The backlog of homes sold but not yet closed at March 31 was 2,019 homes, a 74 percent increase over backlog at March 31, 1995. Both the new orders for the quarter and the homes in backlog represent record quarterly levels for the company, officials said in a news release announcing earnings. Beazer is headquartered in Atlanta; its markets include Dallas, Phoenix and Southern Nevada. (NYSE: BZH)
