A one-day shortage deprives woman of Social Security
Friday, March 29, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
Social Security won't give me my ex-husband's benefits. We were married 10 years. In that time there were two leap years, so I am only short one day but they won't give it to me. He paid into it for years and never used it. Neither did that woman who he left me for. I raised two children by myself.
They didn't have that law in 1951 when he divorced me or I never would have signed any divorce papers. I did not have a good lawyer like Princess Diana. It is so unfair as I am 79 years old and can't get a job because of my age.
