Residents near Stratosphere get aid
Thursday, March 28, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
The Stratosphere Corp. has agreed to provide free rent and relocation expenses to about 140 residents who are being displaced by the company's $500 million hotel and tower.
The deal was negotiated over the past week and accepted by affected residents, according to Stratosphere spokesman Tom Bruny.
Bruny said Stratosphere was legally obligated only to give proper notice to tenants, but in an effort to be good neighbors and good corporate citizens, the company came up with the relocation package.
