Festivities will include a mini fashion show spotlighting the do's and don'ts of business dress and an opportunity to meet with members of Nevada Partners board of directors.
Y.E.S. is a free program designed to place 500 teens, ages 16 and older, in jobs around the city. Employers in years past have included the Clark County School District, Circus Circus, MGM Grand and local insurance agents.
But before they can enter the working world, the teens must complete a two-week life/job skills training course that covers a range of topics -- personal hygiene, conflict resolution tactics, self-esteem issues.
"We need to let them know what an employer looks for and we really stress attitude," explains Jocelyn Oats, Nevada Partners youth services coordinator.
The kickoff will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at Nevada Partners headquarters, 710 W. Lake Mead Blvd., in North Las Vegas. For more information, call 399-5627.
