IRS bomb suspect may change plea
Thursday, March 28, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
The U.S. District Court calendar shows Ellis Hurst, 52, is scheduled to enter a change of plea before U.S. District Judge Howard McKibben.
Hurst was arrested along with Joseph Bailie, 40, several days after a white drum filled with a fertilizer and fuel mixture was found in a side parking lot of the building on Dec. 18.
Authorities said a fuse had been lit, but a detonator failed to ignite the bomb.
An IRS employee arriving for work discovered the device. Authorities believe it was left at the building the night before.
Both Hurst and Bailie are from Douglas County.
A trial is set for June 3 trial.
