Community help available for local victims of rape
Monday, March 25, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
Community Action Against Rape -- the Rape Crisis Center -- has been serving our community for 22 years. We can be reached 24 hours a day through our hotline, 366-1640 (TDD 385-2955), for assistance to those who are victims, those concerned about a victim, or to answer questions. Our services include: immediate response, accompaniment for medical care, law enforcement and throughout the criminal justice system; therapy and other help to meet your specific needs. We are here to listen, clarify any questions you have and to provide you with resources to make an informed decision. All services are free.
We are also happy to provide education/prevention programs. To schedule a program, contact our office at 385-2153, 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
CAAR is an independent, nonprofit organization. Our women and men volunteers are our greatest asset. They are carefully screened, have passed a background check and successfully completed 40 hours of intensive training.
If you, or someone you know, has been a victim of this life-threatening crime, please call. No one should have to go through this alone. We can help.
