Softball team 6th in ratings

The UNLV Rebels softball team jumped one spot to sixth in today's National Softball Coaches Association/USA Today poll after being stalled in the seventh spot for the last three weeks.
The Rebels, 19-6 overall and 5-1 in the Big West Conference, went 2-0 last week by sweeping Missouri in a doubleheader.
UNLV travels to Cal State Fullerton to compete in the CSF/PONY Tournament today through Sunday. The Rebels kick of pool play with Northwestern today and play Oklahoma tonight. The Rebels face Oregon State Friday before heading into bracket play on Saturday.
Tennis
The 16th-ranked UNLV men's tennis team improved to 10-4 on the year with a 5-2 home-court victory over Cal Poly San Luis Obispo Wednesday. No. 6-ranked Roger Pettersson won his 10th-straight singles match by coming back against Chris Magyary, 4-6, 6-2, 6-2. The senior Swede is now 18-4 for the season.
The Rebel men return to action on Friday, playing No. 39 Washington in Fresno, Calif.
The UNLV women's team, ranked 41st, lost to 28th-ranked Auburn 7-2 Wednesday at home.
The Lady Rebels, who dropped to 6-5, won the top two singles matches but were swept in doubles play. No. 8 Marianne Vallin won her match over Mette Sigmundstad 6-3, 6-3 to improve to 18-7 on the season. Auburn won the bottom four matches in straight sets.
