Robber sought in 35th bank holdup for 1996

The search continues for the robber who held up a southwest valley bank.

Wednesday's incident was the 35th bank robbery in Metro Police's jurisdiction for 1996, compared with 13 for the same time period in 1995.

The man grabbed an undisclosed amount of money from the teller after handing her a demand note, then ran east out the doors of the Pioneer Citizens Bank at 4949 W. Spring Mountain Road at about 10 a.m.

The suspect has been described as a white male in his early 30s, 5 feet 8 inches, medium build with a blemished face.
