StumbleFunding on way for wetland area

Nevada would receive $100,000 for the Veterans Park Oasis in Boulder City under the federal Bureau of Reclamation's proposed 1997 budget.
The funding amounts to the same level as this year for the project to protect wetlands about 35 miles southeast of Las Vegas.
For its total budget, the bureau asked Congress for $765 million, a 1 percent increase over this year.
