Some Complain No List Included with Ballots
Thursday, March 7, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
The election department mailed 153,363 ballots to county Republicans on Friday.
Thousands of the mail-in ballots had been signed and mailed back as of Wednesday. March 26 is the deadline for returning the ballots, which will be counted on that date.
Registrar of Voters Kathryn Ferguson said her office has received about 20 calls from people who didn't receive a list of candidates.
She said some may not have received the list, and some may have just misplaced it.
Those who do not have the list may vote in person at the election department, or call the department and have an election worker read the list of GOP candidates, she said.
Las Vegas businessman Bob O'Connell, husband of Republican state Sen. Ann O'Connell, said he didn't get the list of names and called to have it read to him over the phone.
But he questioned how many people who did not get the list would take the time to call and obtain the names.
