The blaze was declared contained Monday evening, said Jerry Rohnert, fire information officer.
The blaze -- dubbed the Long Ridge fire -- burned over 3,485 acres of mostly Bureau of Land Management property about five miles northwest of Mona, 65 miles south of Salt Lake.
Flames came within a half mile of the power lines, including a pair of 345,000-volt lines that feed the Los Angeles basin and parts of Nevada, including Las Vegas, and two 230,000-volt lines providing power to dozens of communities in southern Utah, Nevada and parts of Arizona.
