StumbleCity may create new position

Las Vegas City Manager Larry Barton next week will propose adding another deputy city manager to help oversee the city bureaucracy.
The request will come before the City Council at its regular meeting Wednesday.
Barton will propose promoting Finance Director Steve Houchens to the post. Houchens would work alongside Barton's longtime deputy, Lynn Macy. The pair would divide day-to-day management responsibilities of the city's departments.
Mayor Jan Laverty Jones had urged Barton to hire another deputy to increase efficiency.
