Car sought in hit-run injuring boy

Metro Police are searching for the driver of a green Pontiac station wagon who has been accused of fleeing the scene of an accident after critically injuring a 10-year-old bicyclist.
The boy was heading east across Decatur Boulevard at the Nebraska Avenue intersection about 1 p.m. Thursday when he was hit after failing to yield to southbound traffic.
A witness driving south on Decatur told police she was able to brake in time to avoid hitting the boy when he crossed in front of her car, but the driver of a 1990 station wagon in the lane next to her did not.
Two or three males are believed to have been inside the green vehicle, which fled the scene and headed west on the U.S. 95 Expressway.
Anyone with information on the accident is asked to call Detective Rick Hart at 229-3535 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
