There will be an opening reception 6-8 tonight.
The theme of the auction changes each year. This time, artists were asked to create an original piece using a 16-by-20-inch envelope as the starting point.
Participating artists include Philip Argent, Jose Bellver, David Geise, Fritz Scholder, Lee Sido and Mary Warner.
The artworks will be shown in the 3455 E. Flamingo Road gallery through Sept. 5. They will then be auctioned Sept. 6 at the Rio hotel-casino to benefit the 10-year-old contemporary art organization. Educational programs will also be held in conjunction with the exhibit.
Tickets for the dinner-auction are $75. For information, call 434-2666.
