Man jailed in sword incident

An alleged Samurai sword attack on three golfers has landed a 39-year-old man in jail.
Slashing the air with the sword, Thomas Proctor ran out of his condominium at 73 Country Club Drive onto hole No. 12 of the Las Vegas Country Club, Metro Police reported.
Police said he chased three golfers in the July 2 incident. The unidentified golfers jumped into their golf cart and tried to get away from Proctor, police said. Proctor, however, chased the cart while waving his sword, police said.
The golfers escaped and called police. No one was injured.
Proctor may have been angry about golf balls landing in his yard or about the noise golfers were making, police said.
Because of overcrowding at the Clark County Detention Center, Proctor was jailed in North Las Vegas on three counts of assault with a deadly weapon. Bail was set at $3,000.
He is scheduled to appear in Justice Court on July 19.
