Henderson man’s death suspicious
Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
A woman returned to her Henderson home to find her 19-year-old son dying on the kitchen floor. Police suspect foul play.
The mother, who was not identified, arrived home from work about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at 348 Keating St. and found her son, Michael O'Rourke, wounded and lying face down on the kitchen floor.
The woman tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate her son before calling 911, police said. When police arrived he was dead.
"We determined that there was some indication of trauma (to the body)," Henderson Lt. Monty Sparks said. "It appears to be foul play."
Sparks said there were also signs of a struggle in the home in a 10-year-old subdivision off Pecos and Warm Springs roads. Police declined to describe O'Rourke's injuries.
Residents of the home include the mother, stepfather and three other children, police said.
The incident occurred sometime between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m., Sparks said. The victim, a construction worker, had left work about 3:30 p.m.
