Don’t give HIV-infected personnel special treatment
Thursday, Feb. 29, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
I spent 30 years in the military and have to agree with Congress: To let HIV personnel remain stateside while someone else, whose turn it was to remain stateside, has to take his place in a war zone is outrageous. But in Clinton's mind that's all right. Just as he ducked the war in Vietnam, the HIVs could remain here, while someone else takes their place.
I also get sick of you printing liberal letters from Orville Goplen, running down the Republicans and especially Ronald Reagan. The Democrats controlled Congress during his tenure. Evidently, they went along with everything.
