North Las Vegas Police arrested a suspect today in a Sept. 21 murder.
Roy Whittaker, 21, also known as "Roy-Mac" and "Mac-Villain," was arrested at 7:30 a.m. on the street near his North Las Vegas residence, Lt. Chris Larotonda said.
At 1:22 a.m. Sept. 21, police were called to Civic Center Drive and Venus Avenue, where they found 18-year-old Tracy Kennedy lying in the street. He had been shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, police said. An unidentified friend of Kennedy was also shot. The friend was taken to University Medical Center where he was treated and released.
Whittaker was booked into the North Las Vegas jail and charged with murder with a deadly weapon and two counts of attempted murder with a deadly weapon.
"He's been a suspect for quite some time," Larotonda said. "We wrapped up the investigation late last night and went out this morning and made the arrest."
