School district spending

How the Clark County School Board voted Tuesday to spend tax dollars:

* $13,585,727 to various vendors for purchase orders for such things as computer hardware and software, copy machines, legal fees, library books, textbooks, classroom furniture, magazine subscriptions, land purchases, consultation fees and construction contracts.

* $242,765 to various vendors for bid awards, including $45,812 for miscellaneous vehicle repair parts; $55,263 to Oak Valley Farms Inc. for turkey; and $141,688 to various vendors for school furniture.

* $298,148 for construction change orders, including $102,852 to Fremont Construction Co., for Eva Wolfe Elementary; $62,963 to Clark & Sullivan Constructors, Inc., for Aggie Roberts Elementary; $106,598 to the construction contract for Venderburg Elementary; and $25,734 to the construction contract to Pace Contracting Co., for Silverado High School expansion.

* $7,900 to Lincy Lippitt as an out-of-district consultant to make presentations on how to develop lesson plans to incorporate reading, writing, listening and speaking across the curriculum. The presentations, which will run five days, will target 50 K-12 curriculum specialists, teachers on special assignment and reading/learning strategists.

* $6,500 to Kathy Richardson as an out-of-district consultant to conduct mathematics workshops for approximately 100 elementary teachers.

* $2,000 to Gary Hargett as an out-of-district consultant to provide a series of program development, implementation and evaluation services for the second language programs department.

* $1,050 to Alan November as an out-of-district consultant to speak at an inservice for alternative education staff.
