Three schools that have spent a lot of time in the Top 25 are back in the rankings.
Texas Tech, Louisville and Alabama all moved into the college basketball poll for the first time this season Monday, and Kansas maintained its stranglehold on No. 1.
Texas Tech (5-0) entered the Top 25 at No. 18 after beating two ranked teams in less than a week. The Red Raiders, who returned just one starter from last season's 30-2 team that reached the regional semifinals in the NCAA tournament, beat then-No. 25 George Washington and then-No. 11 New Mexico in a five-day span.
Louisville (4-0) entered the rankings at No. 22 off an overtime victory over LSU in the John Wooden Classic. The Cardinals were ranked for the last six polls last season, getting as high as No. 20.
No. 24 Alabama (7-0) handed Minnesota its first loss of the season last week, and the Crimson Tide are ranked for the first time since the 1994-95 season, when they reached 18th.
The UNLV Rebels are ranked 39th.
