3 separate accidents slow traffic
Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.
Three freeway accidents caused traffic tie-ups during this morning's commute, the Nevada Highway Patrol said.
No one was seriously hurt, Trooper Steve Harney said.
At 5:56 a.m., a four-car pile-up on northbound U.S. 95 at Interstate 15 caused traffic to back up, Harney said.
At 6:44 a.m., a second four-car collision occurred just south of the Spaghetti Bowl in the northbound lanes of U.S. 95, Harney said.
Then at 6:50 a.m., a cement truck at I-15 and Cheyenne Avenue hit a concrete barrier and blocked a travel lane.
"They all produced a traffic backlog because they were in the roadways and people slowed down to take a look," Harney said.
