Classes available for UNLV fall semester

Friday, Aug. 9, 1996 | 11:59 a.m.

Sue Bozarth, UNLV's newly appointed interim admissions director, is reminding prospective students that it's not too late to enroll for fall classes.

"If a student is interested in taking a university class just to see what college is like, then enrolling as a special student is a good option," Bozarth said. "But students who want to pursue a degree program should apply for formal admission to the university."

Either option is still available through Aug. 23, which is the last day to apply for admission or to enroll in classes without paying a late fee. Instruction begins Aug. 26. Late registration runs from Aug. 26-30.

Bozarth will direct the university's admissions efforts while retaining her position of associate dean of admissions and records. During her 15 years at UNLV, Bozarth has served as assistant registrar, associate registrar and associate dean of admissions and records. She holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and a master's in sociology, both from UNLV.

"Promoting UNLV to prospective students and their parents will be a pleasure," Bozarth said. "Both as an employee and as an alumna, I can speak highly of the university, its programs and the potential students can reach here. ... We hope to increase awareness of this in the future."

For more information about applying for admission to UNLV, call the admissions office at 895-3443.
