Metro Police and a former juvenile division detective have been named in a lawsuit filed on behalf of a juvenile who claims he was molested by the officer.
The lawsuit, filed Friday by attorney Cal Potter, charges that between 1991-93 then-Detective Craig Williamson molested the boy "under the color of law" and gave the boy an unspecified "controlled substance."
Williamson pleaded guilty last year to a misdemeanor count of annoying a minor and was sentenced to 30 days in jail and a $1,000 fine.
At the time, he was a 29-year Metro veteran who spent part of that time in the juvenile sexual assault unit. The boy involved in the criminal case had been a sexual abuse victim whose attacker Williamson helped send to prison.
According to the legal action, the boy "suffered emotional harm, insecurity, self-revulsion, shame and humiliation."
The boy and his mother are seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
