Stories about IRS abuses make public cowardly

So, what else is new?

Granted, along with many other poor endeavors by Congress, our internal revenue laws are a disgrace. The only redeeming feature of the law is the right each citizen has to demand a formal hearing each time he or she is audited. If every auditee would exercise his or her right, the result would become too cumbersome to handle, and the law would be changed in a matter of months. All with no fuss or bloodshed.

However, very few have ever stepped up, even after 80-plus years of confusion and abuse.

Please, no more IRS stories. They put the public in a cowardly light.

Yes, it's not a perfect world, but when are we going to start making it better?
