But who benefits from all the growth -- the casinos and the developers? The casinos pay an obscenely low tax rate of 6.25 percent and the developers an equally ridiculous impact fee.
The casinos bring in employees that pay no real estate taxes because they rent. The developers bring in more people who want schools for their kids. So who picks up the freight for the majority of the cost? The taxpaying property owners! The least represented group in the valley.
Our outstanding Legislature accept bushels of money from the greedy paws of gaming and developers so there will be little or not taxes for them to pay. And we continue to think this a democracy. What a laugh!
