Sign rules on private property should be fair

Another ordinance passed by the County Commission last year requires a person or business to get written permission, take a scaled drawing and pay $100 to the county to get a permit to put up a sign, no matter how small, to advertise an open house or anything else. This also was to eliminate and eyesore.

However, both ordinances exempt the biggest eyesore ever and that is the political signs these same politicians put up during mud-slinging season. They even park large, ugly, old, worn-out, junk trailers on private property without our permission.

The issue of political signs did come before the County Commission last year, but it was decided that the commission would not act on it at all. They make the rules.

I feel that the sale of private property by the legal owner is an important free trade issue that should not be addressed by any government agency.

I do not feel that any ordinance should exempt any special group.
