Cut special-interest perks before benefits for elderly

Every time I see a GAO report on wasteful defense spending, it makes me want to scream. This is a land of the privileged and the connected. They keep their rumps covered, and the rest of us have to make do.

So let's cut Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid and disability programs. Sixty percent of those receiving benefits are elderly women who were home taking care of the very same younger people who are complaining of paying too much for these "greedy geezers" who are barely above the poverty level.

So let's be fair! Cut congressional salaries and retirement benefits which are obscenely generous. Do away with limousines, outrageous travel costs, junkets, golf courses for our privileged few. Cut out all this wasteful defense spending.

Do this first and then cut the 75-year-old widows' benefits.
