Pair sought in stabbing

Metro Police continued their search today for two men accused of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old Las Vegas man.

The victim had been talking with his assailants in an alley between West Cincinnati and Sahara avenues, near Las Vegas Boulevard South, when an argument started shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, witnesses said.

The two men chased the victim a short distance and began stabbing him, homicide Sgt. Ken Hefner said. The victim was able to hobble into a courtyard of an apartment complex at 317 W. Cincinnati Ave., where police found him semi-conscious minutes later.

Paramedics transported the unidentified victim to University Medical Center, where he died in surgery at 9:03 p.m., a nursing supervisor said. His name has been withheld until his relatives can be notified.

Police have not commented on a motive for the killing, and said the two assailants were last seen leaving the alley in a blue sedan.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Metro's homicide section at 229-3521 or Secret Witness at 385-5555.
