Media bashing is topic as ‘Nevada Week’ moves to 8

The mayor will be joined by the city's communications director, former Channel 13 reporter Cathy Hanson.

The mayor will face three City Hall reporters -- Jeff Cohan of the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Steve Sebelius of the Las Vegas SUN and political columnist Jon Ralston -- and question them about the fairness and accuracy of their news reporting.

Hosted by KLVX moderator Mitch Fox, the "Mini Media Bash" is a shorter version of the original hour-long program, which gives a panel of prominent newsmakers an opportunity to criticize the city's top journalists about their news coverage.

"The 'Mini Media Bash' and other special broadcasts of 'Nevada Week in Review' are a part of the public-affairs programming effort at Channel 10," according to General Manager Tom Axtell. "This year, KLVX will be broadcasting political debates and town hall meetings and will be getting ready for our weekly legislative program, 'Capitol Issues,' which will begin next January."
