A House subcommittee on public lands is holding a hearing in Las Vegas at the request of Rep. John Ensign, R-Nev.
The hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the County Commission chambers at the Clark County Government Center.
The topic of the hearing is the Southern Nevada Public Lands Act of 1996.
The legislation would authorize the sale of federally owned land in Southern Nevada to buy environmentally sensitive lands and pay for parks and recreation areas and water and sewer improvements.
The meeting is open to the public.
