Lied museum looks at science in April

April is Science Month at Lied Discovery Children's Museum, 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, where the theme is "Science isn't mysterious, it's everywhere."

Activities are under way this week, spring break, with daily workshops and demonstrations featuring sundials, weather vanes, mazes, a video microscope and experiments using liquid nitrogen, static electricity and simple household items.

Additional weekend workshops throughout April continue to focus on science, leading into National Science and Technology Week, April 21-27. This is the second year the museum has been designated the official site for the program, which is coordinated through the National Science Foundation to promote science awareness.
