Alert city police yesterday afternoon nabbed two "hot check artists" who also were wanted for parole violation in Kansas.
Lieut. Det. B.J. Handlon said the pair were apprehended by uniform officers in the 400 block on South Main Street about 5 p.m. The officers had recognized the car from a description in reports.
They were identified as Perry Edward Smith, 31, and Richard Eugene Hickock, 28.
Handlon said the pair are notorious for their bad check activities from Chicago to the West Coast.
